Abstract
Fluid simulation plays a critical role in modern automotive development, spanning early design exploration through to production validation. As vehicles become increasingly optimized for efficiency, performance, and electrification requirements, engineers must evaluate complex trade-offs between aerodynamic performance, design intent, and manufacturability much earlier in the development process. In this context, simulation provides key input into engineering decision-making. By enabling rapid evaluation of design alternatives, fluid dynamics models help reduce uncertainty and improve the quality of early-stage product decisions. This discussion highlights how CFD simulation technologies are used across different automotive attributes to support more informed, faster, and more integrated engineering workflows.
